2009 A New Year

Hoping this new year brings some new and better changes.

The holidays were nice in the Atkins household. Kari and her family came up from sunny, warm Florida to bitter cold Indiana just to spend the time with family. It
was well appreciated. We had a great visit.

Dec. 19 brought the birth of grandchild #9. Adam, Renae and Tatum welcomed Xander Thomas to their loving family.

Christmas was at Art and Lisa again this year. And as always it was a great day.

Last month Tom and I spent a couple of weeks in Florida. Had a great time visiting friends and family. Did some boating and Tom finally had some successful fishing. One day we took Kari and the kids and went by boat up to Ft. Myers Beach to where they were having a sand sculpturing contest. These were amazing. People from all over the world compete in this.

Later we were on the way back when we stopped to watch some dolphins fishing and playing at Big Carlos Pass. They were really putting on a show and I got this great picture of one of them.

Summer's Over

I almost forgot I had started this blog. I was doing a search of myself and found it, so thought I should update it.

We had a great summer. Weather was good most of the time. End of the summer for me means 2 things. 1. Blueberry Festival 2. Time to look forward to my fall trip to Florida.

Blueberry was picture perfect this year, well, maybe could have been a little cooler, but a festival without rain is perfect. Love seeing family and friends who stop by for a visit. I live next to the park so my yard is used by all my family and friends for parking. We had Denver and the Mile High Orchestra here at the festival this year. They finished 3rd in the The Next Great American Band on Fox last year. Two members of the band are from Plymouth. http://www.denvermho.com/

The fireworks were great and I will try to post a video.

Planning our fall trip to Florida. Can't wait to see the grandkids. I am happy they are in Florida and love it, but it still is hard to go that long without seeing them. Tom is looking forward to this trip. He hasn't been to our place in Florida in over 19 months due to his two hip replacements he has had in the last year.

I am working hard on my Uppercase Living business. I spend time working on it each day, just trying to promote it and get the word out there. UL gave us our own websites recently. Hope everyone checks mine out. http://linda.uppercaseliving.net

Renae and Adam are expecting a baby boy in January. That will help make the winter fly by. Tatum is excited about getting a new brother, but I have a feeling she doesn't quite know what that means. I am sure she will be lots of help to mommy and daddy when the little one gets here.

Friendly Bluebirds

I have a pair of bluebirds in my bluebird house. I think they are the same ones I had last year. I have been feeding them mealworms and they will actually land on the patio table and eat while we are sitting at the table.

Mr. Bluebird will actually land on a shepard's hook I have in front of a window and when I get up to go get the food, he heads for the back porch.

My Trees

My trees were beautiful this year. The blooms seemed to last longer this year.
